What do you dread?
Jul 21, 2026I recently ran across this topic and realized I've never really considered that I felt dread. I remember feeling dread in the past, dreading giving a speech in Speech Class. I didn't relate to feeling it today, until I dug deeper.
If this isn't something that immediately comes up for you, watch this week's video and see if you can relate.
It showed up for me as things I didn't want to do. Tasks I didn't enjoy doing.
The interesting thing about the emotion of dread is that it's an anticipatory feeling. It's related to something that might happen in the future. Or might not.
We subject ourself to this negative emotion in the moment and it's not even necessary.
And the best part is that it completely goes away after the thing is done. Once we complete the task we were dreading, the emotion is over.
There is another thing we dread, things that may never happen. So, we cause our own suffering, likely entertaining irrational thoughts about something that might not happen, likely won't happen.
We create our own suffering, but maybe without realizing it.
Hopefully this brings a new awareness for you, like it did me.
The more we know, the more we catch, the more we can create a different experience.
We should not choose dread. We should not choose suffering.
It is a choice. If we are aware of what's happening!
Don't miss a beat!
