Yes, it is! It's considered an informal emotion. Often described as low energy, lack of motivation, boredom, but also stagnation, emptiness, lethargy, or general dissatisfaction. Other descriptions include unfocused, indifferent, and detached.
It is frequently used to describe a "funk".
It can be a temporary response to monotony, stress, or lack of purpose.
I noticed for myself that I would feel blah and I was just accepting it like the news. I was becoming aware, but I was not doing anything with it. I was wallowing in it.
I think blah can be confusing because there are times when we are truly tired and lacking energy and that makes us feel blah. But that is a physical feeling in our body. The blah we are talking about today is the emotion that is caused by our thinking.
We become aware of feel blah and then we get curious. We allow the emotion and describe it and tell ourselves it's okay. Then we figure out what we are thinking and decide if we want to make changes.
